TNPSC invites Applications from eligible candidates only through online mode upto 09.01.2019 for direct recruitment to the post of District Educational Officer in School Education Department included in the Tamil Nadu School Educational Service.

Vacancies:

1. District Educational Officer - 20 Nos

Educational Qualifications:

Applicants should possess the following or its equivalent qualification awarded by any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission
For both, Open Market candidates and Teachers employed in recognised Aided Secondary Schools and Higher Secondary Schools:
1. Master’s Degree of any University recognised by the UGC in the State or a Degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects with not less than 50% of Marks in the Master’s Degree Examination in any one of the following subjects:- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry , Botany , Zoology, Economics , Geography , History ,Commerce, Tamil and English, (Provided that a candidate possessing a Degree of M.A or M.Sc. or an equivalent degree awarded under the grading system shall not be considered eligible for appointment unless he has obtained the said degree with “ O” or “A” or “B” Grade.) AND 
2. B.T. or B.Ed. Degree of any recognized university in the State or a degree of equivalent standard. AND 
3. Must have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University course or Higher Secondary Course.

Experience: 
Only for recruitment to the vacancies which are to be filled from among the Teachers employed in recognised Aided Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools having teaching experience in a recognized School for a total period of not less than 12 years after acquiring the qualifications specified in item 2 above


Scale of pay: Rs.56900 -180500


Fee:

1) Registration Fee: Rs.150
Note: i. Applicants who have already registered in one time registration system within the validity period of five years are exempted from payment of registration fee. ii. Those who have registered in one-time registration system and paid the registration fee of Rs.150/- and received the registration ID need not pay the registration fee i.e., Rs.150/- and it is enough to pay the examination fee alone.

2) Preliminary Exam Fee: Rs.100/
Note: The Preliminary Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the concessions noted below.

3) Main written Examination Fee: Rs.200
Note: The Main Written Examination fee should be paid later only by those applicants who are admitted to the Main Written Examination based on the result of the Preliminary Examination and on receipt of intimation from the Commission, if they are not eligible for fee concession.

Mode of  Fees Payment:

Preliminary Examination fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) is payable online through Net Banking / Credit card / Debit card or it can be paid offline at the State Bank of India / Indian Bank within two days from the date of submission of online application by choosing the option in the online application.

Scheme of Examination:

Scheme of Examination has Two types first one is Preliminary and second one is Main Written Examination
1. Preliminary Exam (Objective Type - Degree Standard) - 3.00 Hrs
General Studies - 200 items [General Studies - 150 items Aptitude & Mental Ability Test - 50 items (S.S.L.C Std.)]
2. Main Written Examination : (Degree Standard)
Paper - I (Descriptive type) : General Studies
Paper - II (Descriptive type) : General Studies
Paper - III (Objective type) : Education - 200 Items (B.Ed. course syllabus)


Selection Procedure:
The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of applicants for admission to the Main Examination, (ii) Main Examination and (iii) Viva–Voce Test.

The candidates for admission to Main Examination will be shortlisted as decided by the Commission at a ratio not exceeding 50 times of the number of vacancies following the rule of reservation. However, in each reservation group, all the applicants, who secure the same marks as that of the cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:50 ratio.

Candidates for Viva Voce Test will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 with reference to the number of vacancies as specified in “Instructions to Applicants” under the heading “Procedure of Selection”.
